Anyone who has followed this blog from the beginning probably asked themselves this question about a month ago….What’s the deal with “See What I See?” Where are the new posts?? Is Jesse Ok/Alive?? Ok, well maybe you didn’t really ask that question but the others you might have. Well…I probably should have at least posted way earlier than I am but my first attempt at completing the 365 project clearly did not go well. I don’t like to make excuses, I set out to complete this project and I failed. But if I had to pick a point in time that things started to go downhill…it was taking my week-long vacation to Aruba back in April. What an awesome vacation and I do not regret it one bit, BELIEVE ME I DON’T. I did notice however that the week off really disrupted the flow that I had established up to that point and I just never truly recovered. This is something that I really need to improve upon. Establishing a more consistent workflow will surely enable me to be successful next time out. It’s weak to say the least, this I know….but after missing several days during at least 2 different stretches I just came to realize that the integrity of my 365 Project had simply been compromised and continuing on in this fashion just wasn’t the right thing to do for a lot of different reasons. So many out there have done the 365 and done it right…My hat’s off to you if you are part of that group. Day 1 through 365, at least 1 photo a day, staying true to the format and to oneself…that’s it. I feel mostly that I have let down myself more than anything as well as a few others who were following and really enjoying the daily updates but I now understand the difficulty of making it through to the end and I have also gained an added level of admiration, appreciation and respect for those who have been successful with their own 365 Projects. So what really does this all mean for me? Well, what it means is that I will be starting over from the beginning…I am not a quitter and I will do what it takes to eventually make things right. This way, when I ultimately do get to that day 365 finish line, I will cross it feeling 100% satisfied with myself and my efforts. So for those who still have an interest in my photos and my development as a photo enthusiast, please stay tuned for Round 2 as I take my second stab at making it through all 365 days.
